Shopping

As a visitor to the island you have an opportunity to buy an impressive selection of wonderful items at tax free prices. You must present your passport (with immigration form) to obtain these prices. You can usually take the goods with you; liquor and tobacco being the exception and these are delivered to your port of departure for pick up. The main area for shopping is Broad Street in Bridgetown where you should combine a few hours of shopping with lunch or dinner at the Waterfront Café. In Holetown you can find a good range of goods at Cave Shepherd, a local branch of the store in Broad Street. Barbados is excellent for diamonds and designer label goods. You can also find fine examples of local Caribbean art.

For supplies there is a well-stocked Supercentre supermarket in Holetown and fish markets on the way to Mullins Bay and at Paynes Bay; all within 10 minutes drive.
